The Warrior Heir

For my quarter book project I decided to choose The Warrior Heir, by Cinda Williams Chima. I chose this book because of the summery on the back which talks about a seven-teen year-old boy named Jack, who lives in a small Ohio town of Trinity. One day he forgets to take his medicine, and suddenly he is stronger, fiercer, and more confident then ever before. That's when he finds out that he is apart Weirlind; an underground society of magical people who live among us. At their helm sits the feuding houses of the Red Roes and White Rose, whose power is determined by playing the Game; a magical tournament in which each house sponsors a warrior to fight to the death. As if this wasn't enough, Jack also finds out that he's not just another member of Weirlind, but he's one of the last of the warriors, and both houses are scouting for a player. My ideas of this book are that Jack will ether escape or win against the Red Rose or White Rose, and in doing that helps out the whole Weirlind society. Expectations of this book are that a hope this author has a nice flow and an interesting way of describing stuff.

The Value of Reading

Reading is an accentual to all, it not only widens your vocabulary but also gives you a place to come to when the road is rough. Although some might say reading is a waist of time, I believe that reading, although boring to some is a interesting and enchanting activity. To all that don't think that reading is an enjoyable experience, when the right book comes along you too will become a firm believer that there is a book out there for everyone. Even though there many just read fiction, you can learn allot from a non-fiction book. Often times when looking up something for a school project, I get lost in all the information.
